District Health Board Appointments


District Health Boards (DHBs) comprise seven elected board members and up to four members appointed by the Minister of Health. This section provides information about the appointment process for potential candidates.

The appointment process aims to identify people with capabilities and skills that contribute to the effective functioning of a DHB board. Appointments are made by the Minister, in consultation with Cabinet. The terms and conditions of appointment are set by the Minister.
